We’re conducting a year-long study of the Ecology at The Lake Retreat, Nandivali.
This study will provide a broad assessment of ecology with diversity in trees (flora) & fauna, assessment of soil and water resources in every season.
Here’s the result from the first set of findings from the study conducted in peak summer in the month of May-2023. (The data of this report will be updated at regular intervals on our website with the latest findings)
TREES
The Lake Retreat, Nandivali has trees around 10,000 naturally grown adult trees.
Tree Assessment
The forest represents a multitier system, comprising of Herbs, Shrubs, Trees, Climbers, Lianas and Epiphytes indicating a mixed deciduous forest.
TREE DIVERSITY
Every forest is a unique ecology which is best maintained with its own native plants and trees. Here are some of the variety of trees at The Lake Retreat, Nandivali.
Soil assessment helps us understand grain size, colour,
texture and more. This information can be used in strategic
decision‐making for detailed soil analysis.
Natural water resources on both surface as well as subsurface
were identified in the field observations. The location of these
sources and their physical and hydraulic properties will be further analysed
in the rainy season. These features will help assess the potential of
local water for economic and practical use.

MAINTENANCE AT THE FOREST RESERVE
Beautiful landscapes are best maintained in healthy ecosystems.
How do we grow healthy and thriving ecosystems?
STUDY
Our ecologists conduct a
year-long study that includes
Tree census, Waterflows &
Streams, Soil, and Bio-diversity
PLAN
We then plan the additional
symbiotic trees to be planted,
water harvesting methods and
soil regeneration activities
to further assist the ecosystem
to flourish sustainably
